Development of Thinking Skills

According to a research a child is not born with the ability of Thinking Skills .It’s a skill of meditation to find a reason and a key to solve a problem. It’s a mental, stepwise process of hearing, seeing and does action, and we need to be able to evaluate what we have done, if necessary, go back and undo what we have done to apply another strategy.   A child sleeps, walks and talks naturally, but can’t think naturally. The child is lucky, if his/her parents and teachers develop his/her thinking skills. It's very important to develop a child's thinking skills  at early age to compete in future as it is a key of success.

To develop thinking skills in a school, a lesson plan (Teaching method) should be designed such as (a) it should stimulate the young learners to get the right way (b) it should have brain games to play (c) and activities should have clues to solve a task with fun, but usually in schools copy and pasting is done from text books and the internet. Teachers do not take pain to know the level of learners and just pass an unhealthy comment on the work sheet done by the child and plan the activities that do not develop learners’ thinking skills. The question is this why is it so? It might be the negligence or ignorance of the person who is on seat.

At home, parents should take their children seriously, engage them in meaningful conversations and activities, inspire their imaginations ,ask them questions that get them to think and should give them small tasks to do in routine life, but unfortunately they are problem creators not problem solving as well as fuss makers. They don’t know their reason of birth and stay in the same scenario all their life and their children are called pampered when they interact with others in their surroundings .Thinking skill is an essential life skill that promotes higher order thinking that make our child able to understand the logical connections between ideas.I have designed two activities with the simplest things for young learners that promotes their thinking skills.
