Blurred Vision Part : I’ve Fallen And I Can’t Get Up

“The Lord directs the steps of the godly, He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, the will never fall, for the Lord holds them”

Psalm 37: 23-24

Fall (verb):move downward, typically rapidly and freely without control, from a higher to a lower level; lose one’s balance and collapse.

You’ve fallen, and you feel that you can’t get up! I know. I have been there and at times have to remind myself to choose to stand. The difference in my mentality then and my mentality now, is that I depend on God to get me through when I feel I have reached the point where I can’t go on any longer.

I fall. Down on my knees. There are three things that I realized I had to do when I realized I fell into the ditch of despair:

  • Recognize the common denominators that kept me in the same cycles– We are all creatures of habit. We have healthy and unhealthy habits. What unhealthy habits, or common denominators, have you been recycling? These common denominators make us specialists in waste management when they are not identified.
  • Have open heart surgery-I exposed my vulnerabilities to God. Yep, the good, bad, and down right ugly. I had to ask myself, GINA WHAT’S REALLY GOOD? Pride was one of the things I had to deal with amongst many other things! Once I did this, I began to heal the right way. I am still healing and becoming whole!
  • Got to know who I am and whose I was– I asked myself questions like, who am I? What do I like/dislike?, What do I want to do with my life?, What are some good traits that I have?, What are some things and areas that I need to improve in?, What does God say about me? Why do I care about what others think of me?….This was just a start! Lol

These things helped me identify why I had Blurred vision! My ability to see where God was taking me was distorted due to distractions and realizing that I was holding on to things that had no benefit to me. Now I am determined to stand, because I know that with God I will not fall!
