School says ‘no’ to UberEats

In the 1982 movie, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn) orders a pizza delivery in class.

In Fast Times At Ridgemont High,  surfer dude Jeff Spicoli orders a double-sausage and cheese pizza delivered to his desk in history class, recalls Harold Pierce in the Bakersfield Californian.

Bakersfield’s Liberty High has told students they can’t use UberEats to get food delivered to School.

“Liberty High School will not accept meals delivered by Uber Eats during the school day. The meals must be signed for and (their delivery) has become a disruption to class time when students must leave class to sign for the meals,” campus officials wrote on the Liberty High School website.

UberEats began delivering food last month. The high school’s office staff reported four or five lunch or breakfast deliveries each day.
