5 Shocking Things You Don’t Want To Know When Traveling

Do you like to know everything about a destination before you visit?

If you are like me, you do! But there are some things you don’t really want to know, believe me!

Here are 5 Shocking Things you don’t want to know when traveling!

  1. All Cruise Ships have a morgue. Statistics show an average of 200 deaths per year on cruises. This is why all cruise ships have a morgue cabin to store the body in case a passenger dies. There are also, on most boats, other special cabins transformed into a chapel, a prison, or even an operating room.
  2. Weapons are often forgotten in hotels. Cell phone chargers are among the most forgotten items in hotel rooms. But did you know that weapons are also on the list? Most of the time, those are usually distracted police’s guns and ammunition, but an old traditional Yakuza sword was also found in a hotel in Istanbul, Turkey.
  3. One piece of luggage is lost every second in the world. 34 million suitcases are lost in the world every year, more than one per second. By 2019, the number of passengers in airplanes is expected to reach more than 4 billion a year, which could push the number of lost bags to 70 million. Most lost luggage is found though, don’t worry.
  4. The pilot has the right to disembark you from the airplane. Airlines do not joke with safety in the air. This is the case when a passenger who is drunk, aggressive or in the midst of a psychotic crisis presents a risk for other passengers or for himself. In this case, the captain may decide to disembark this person from the airplane prior to take-off or to request police intervention after the landing.
  5. The dimmed lights are intended to prepare you for a possible evacuation. In addition to helping the passengers to rest, dimmed lights in the airplane’s cabin during take-off and landing at night make it easier for the eyes to get accustomed to darkness in case of an evacuation. It is also recommended to open the window’s blinds to facilitate emergency intervention on board.
