A Luxury Family Hotel: Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel Montreal

Do you agree that visiting any city around the world is a lot more fun when you are staying at a luxury family hotel?

Montreal is celebrating its 375th anniversary in 2017, so this is one of the reasons we decided to travel to Quebec’s metropolis and enjoy at the same time a luxury family weekend getaway.

Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel, in Montreal, is a unique and famous luxury family hotel that warmly welcomed and cared for us. This is why I commend you for staying there next time you visit Montreal, Canada.

The Location

Located right next to the Notre-Dame Basilica, in the Old Montreal, Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel has an ideal location.

Even though Old Montreal can be tricky to drive around, getting to Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel cannot be simpler. Easy to find, Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel offers valet parking that made our arrival even more pleasant, since parking in Old Montreal can be hard to find.

After checking in, there’s no better way to spend the day than taking an easy and charming walk in the heart of Old Montreal, among its cobblestone streets, little cafes and trendy restaurants, cute shops and art galleries and visit the Notre-Dame Basilica.

The Old Port is just minutes away, with its spectacular views. You don’t even need an itinerary to visit Old Montreal’s must-see attractions: everything is at a walking distance and easy to find.

The Hotel

Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel is a 4-Star luxury boutique hotel that offers to their guests 108 authentic and welcoming suites.

From the lobby’s fireplace, the cozy reading area and the trendy bar of the Sinclair Louge, to the secret gardens, Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel master the art of hospitality.

What struck me the most is the caring and friendly staff that went to great extent to make sure we enjoyed our stay.

Moreover, Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel invites all its guests to indulge their imagination, with unique and special experiences: from their permanent exhibition Body&Soul by Quebec Designer Jean-Claude Poitras, to their book Suite Stories, a collection of exclusive short stories written by 14 international authors, that you can keep with you after your stay. You can also watch in the comfort of your suite their short-film La Valise (the suitcase) shot in the hotel, a movie rewarded by the Grands Prix du Tourisme Québécois 2013 and at the Worldwide Hospitality Awards 2013 in Paris.

Finally, Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel is very much involved in sustainable travel, in addition to providing the best luxury experience to families and all travelers.

The Suites

All of the 108 inviting and authentic suites of Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel have a charming and relaxing feel. They all offer a fascinating mix of Old World and new, and they all overlook either the lovely courtyard garden or the cobblestone streets. They also all feature a fully equipped kitchenette, a spacious bathroom, free WiFi, an Espresso machine and an HD flat screen TV.

We had the chance to stay in a Deluxe Suite, and the spacious living space and the separate bedroom truly invited us to relax and unwind. Feeling more like a condo than a hotel room, because of its roomy interiors, our Deluxe Suite even harbored a gorgeous fireplace, to our delight.

My favorite room was the luxurious bathroom, with its walk-in shower, separate bath and a collection of the well-renowned “L’Occitane” spa-like bath and body products.

The Food

The Sinclair restaurant offers refined contemporary cuisine, cooked from a selection of market quality fresh ingredients, that is served at its stunning glass dining room with window-doors that open onto a sunny terrace surrounded by a garden.

One of the nicest places to hang out, drink a latte, read a good book or talk with a friend is at the Sinclair Louge, where you can enjoy a trendy drink in a contemporary atmosphere bathed in natural light.

Of course, since the suites provide a feeling of being at home, with a gorgeous view, there’s a lot of benefits to in-suite dining… or breakfast, lunch, and why not snacking too?

In Summary

Visiting Old Montreal is always a great option for a pleasant family weekend getaway, and staying in a truly relaxed and caring luxury family hotel, at Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel, is without a doubt the best accommodation option.
