Looking back on my vacation to Scotland, one attraction stands out from the rest. This is not to say that there are not many other great tourist attractions in Scotland, but this one really spoke to me. I am speaking of the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre. Although the centre was a little bit of a trek from the hotels in Ballater, this obstacle was easily overcome with renting a vehicle for the day; honestly, there is no better way to see the country of Scotland than a personal vehicle.
    
The Loch Ness Exhibition Centre was established in the year of 1980, although it was formerly known as Loch Ness 2000. I am not sure why it was named Loch Ness 2000 at a time, as it makes one believe that it has something to do with a computer program, or something technological. Regardless, when you enter the exhibition centre you will be guided through 6 different areas, which they refer to as chambers. In these “chambers” you not only have the chance to interact with the exhibits, but also to learn of the area of Loch Ness. The history that is presented in the centre dates from the ice age to present day, so be prepared to be bombarded with an abundance of information. Don't worry if you can not remember it all by the end of the tour, as the experience of visiting the centre will have a long lasting effect on you. You will be able to recount little bits of information here and there to impress your friends back home, if need be.
    
So no matter where you are staying in Scotland: in ballater, Edinburgh, or even a Central Glasgow hotel make the trip to the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre to learn the history of Loch Ness. Whether you get there by car, bus, or taxi it is well worth your effort.
