The Mille Miglia will visit the Museo Alfa Romeo

A special event will be hosted by the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo on 19th May: the 36th re-evocation of what Enzo Ferrari liked to call the “most beautiful race in the world”, the Mille Miglia.

The 2018 edition will honor Alfa Romeo, because it coincides with the 90th anniversary of its first victory in the legendary race, the first of Alfa Romeo’s 11 victories: a record which can now never be beaten.

The brand will celebrate this extraordinary anniversary with a series of special events. In one of the most deeply significant, on Saturday 19th May the Mille Miglia will visit the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo in Arese, where the competitor cars will take part in a time trial on the in-house circuit at the Arese site. It is an original way to celebrate the Alfa Romeo legend and pay homage to the models on display inside the museum, which have written some of the finest pages in the history of world motor sports.

Megawatt court will be the venue of the Asia design pavilion during the forthcoming design week

ASIA DESIGN PAVILION (ADP), a collective exhibition and communication platform, devised to present the multi-faceted creativity of the Asian design scene and reinforce dialogue between the East and West.

Make sure you’ve got a world map at the ready, because the ASIA DESIGN PAVILION, on view from 17 to 22 April at the Megawatt Court on Via Watt 15, will take you from the Middle to the Far East providing a ‘real time’ snapshot of some of the areas that have been undergoing a rapid and escalating transformation process over the past ten years.

In fact, numerous designers, studios and design organizations from Cambodia, China, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Qatar, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey and Israel have chosen the Fuorisalone event to present their creations to the world.

But, at ADP, it’s not all industrial or product design: the eclectic universe of Asian creativity will also be showcasing everything from contemporary art and architecture, to food and fashion.

As well as being a showcase of Asian design, the project will also have an ASIA produce-MI area, a free exhibition space, featuring carefully selected prototypes that will be proposed to potential Asian design producers. There will also be a focus on food and food culture with gastronomical proposals and insights into Asian cuisine for the whole week.

Finally, visitors will also be able to reach the ASIA DESIGN PAVILLION by boat along the Naviglio Grande canal… the perfect way to explore new intercultural horizons.

QR code: what it is

The QR Code is a type of two-dimensional code. It is used to store information and it is easily read by any device, equipped with a camera.

It can be imagined as a virtual link between the paper world and the digital world. It is a simple and low-cost implementation technology and has got many fields of application.

The possibilities of using QR Codes are theoretically unlimited because in a QR-Code you can insert different types of contents and recall any kind of multimedia useful information.

It is an original and functional way to communicate in a dynamic and participatory way even when you are forced to the immobility of small spaces or limited by time.

PIPO device: its characteristics

PIPO is a hybrid device that combines the appearance of a classic tablet and the features of a fixed mini PC. It allows the use of content and software both by employees and participants.

Its high technical characteristics, as well as the easy transport and handling, let it certainly be more preferred than other more expensive and cumbersome solutions.

Which are the real potentials of this combined system?

How do these two systems communicate with each other?

This is a portable code scanner to be connected to the PIPO device. It is easy to use and, through the detection of codes, provides information and communications in real time.

The reading devices can be used without requiring special technical infrastructures; they are small, light and fit in a suitcase.

Inauguration of the exhibition “LINEA D’OMBRA”

Josef Baaddi born in Trento in 1991 is a mix of cultures, Italian and Moroccan.

Art and design have always been his greatest passion, he graduated from the art institute of Trento in 2010 where he played and participated in several exhibitions and impromptu paintings around the Trentino.

He moved to Milan for business reasons and with the intention of expanding his art and his way of expressing himself in the “big city”.

He defines his art “figurative abstractionism” where the subject, always legible, comes off the background in search of balance and harmony, he likes playing with complementary and primary colors.
It is black but the color that prevails in my work, gives me that sense of stability and strength that can keep the design standing.

He’s inspired by the violence of Van Gogh, the genius of Picasso and the lightheartedness of Basquiat
