Introducing Enkesha!
Meet Enkesha! The newest member of the African Eden family. We recently adopted this beauty at the David Sheldrick Wildlife TrustT. This baby female elephant of approximately one year old was first spotted with a wire snare tight around her trunk on the evening of the 10th of Feb at Ngirare in the Mara Triangle, amongst a large herd of wild elephants. Given the late hour, any hope of operating on her that evening was not possible. It was evident that the baby was in excruciating pain.The following day, a three hour operation was performed with three Vets in attendance in order to stitch together this little calf’s trunk.
In all, Enkesha’s improvement has been remarkable, and the ability to use what is left of her trunk has exceeded our expectations. More updates on Enkesha’s remarkable journet coming soon.

Positive Charge
The Rhino Charge is an annual off-road motor sport competition held in Kenya in which entrants are required to visit 13 points scattered over approximately 100 km of rough terrain within a 10 hour period.
The event is organized in order to raise funds to support the activities of the Rhino Ark Charitable Trust, an NGO which works towards a noble cause; the conservation and protection of Kenya’s Mountain range ecosystems, the so called ‘Water Towers’

2018 Lewa Marathon
If you’d like to run alongside 137 rhinos, 182 giraffes, 1,160 Zebras, 26 Lions and 1,400 humans while pounding your way through one of the most beautiful conservancies in Africa, then register for the 18th Safaricom Marathon on June 30th 2018. Bungee Jumping Over the Nile (Uganda)
Just outside Jinja (a couple of hours drive from Kampala) is the source of the River Nile, a location that spawned many an epic voyage of discovery by 18th and 19th century explorers.
Today the source of the Nile can be visited with ease, but where old style epic adventures have vanished, new ones are now on offer.
Near the famous Bujagali Falls, is the Adrift Rafting Base. It is here that you can experience the thrill of a few seconds of free fall as you plunge towards the waters of the Nile. Whether you pull up short and dry, or go for touch down is entirely up to you, but either way, a fall equivalent to a drop from an 11 story building is an experience you are not going to forget in a hurry.
Ngorongoro Crater
The Ngorongoro Crater in Northern Tanzania, once a gigantic volcano, is the largest intact caldera in the world. Some maintain that before it erupted, it would have been higher than Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa.
Today, long since having collapsed and eroded, it is an extensive highland area with the famous 600 m deep Ngorongoro Crater as its focal point. Nearly three million years old, the ancient caldera shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife havens on earth. It is home to the highest density of big game in Africa, including all the big five and plenty of predators. Ngorongoro is justifiably one of the continent’s most famous safari destinations.
Nyungwe National Park (Rwanda)
Home to habituated chimpanzees and 12 other primates species (including a 400-strong troop of habituated Ruwenzori Black & White Colobus), it’s also a birder’s paradise with over 300 species, including 16 endemics, and is home to 75 different species of mammal.
This majestic rainforest is filled with nature and wildlife experiences for you to emerge yourself in. Hiking or even biking the beautiful terrain, tracking the famous chimpanzees, experiencing the canopy walk, witnessing beautiful birds, relaxing by waterfalls are just a glimpse of activities that Nyungwe offers.
