How to Work Smart and Enjoy Your Job

You cannot expect a good blog from a writer every day. But some writers are updating content one after another. How is it possible? Are they following the motto “work smart”? Or have they become superhuman in their profession?

Well, writing an excellent blog or article is not only about having good skills but also it has much to do with the working habits. A good writer can get the tag of a lousy performer if he has poor working habits.

It’s obvious, if you tell me to write continuously for two or three hours, I might fail to write anything valuable. However, if you allow me to do work according to my own pace, I would write something worth reading.

Unfortunately, in the era of technology, most people are busy. They are dealing more with the distraction and less of the work they have been provided. According to a study, employs are productive about three hours out of the eight-hour day.

Although it’s difficult to ignore the distractions, peak performers like Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and you name it have been delivering best results in the world full of distractions.

They work hard. They work smart. They enjoy their job. Above all, they still get the time for their families and recreational activities. What strategy they exactly follow?  Let’s discuss them below.

Work Smart And Follow The Pareto Principle

The Pareto Principle often known as 80/20 rule states that 80% of the results come out by doing 20% of your work. This rule is usually applied in the businesses where Richard Koch found that 80% of the profit of company comes from 20% of the client.

I call the Principle “A Work Smart Phenomena.”

As I apply it in my profession, I ask myself what 20% of work brings me 80% of the productivity. The answer is simple: writing 1000 words. Therefore, I make sure to write 1000 words early in the morning. I’ve been following this rule for over the years, and results are fantastic.

Tight Scheduling

As soon as you wake up in the morning, work smart by planning your day on a piece of paper. Write down today’s goals you set for yourself. Narrow your day into hours and then into minutes.

Make sure you not only know about what you have to do next hour but also you must have a clear vision of what you are going to do the next minute.

Scheduling your day tightly will help you to avoid distraction and get things done sooner.

Finish What You Start

The biggest reason why people fail in their life is that they keep on moving from one task to another without completing any of them. These people are one of those works hard but do not get the results.

They are either busy in achieving everything in a day or finding a way to get busy rather than being productive. As one of the remarkable short inspirational quotes by Robert Collier goes “Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.”

Focus on the work that is in hand. Stick to one task as a postage stamp and until you complete what you start don’t move on to another work. Apply the Pareto principle and work smart.

By doing this, you will not only trigger your productivity but also maximize your potential.

Follow who have already achieved your goal

Another mistake most people do while achieving their goal is they try to do everything by themselves. They don’t work smart. They choose longer routes rather than taking help.

Whatever dream you’ve, you will always find someone who is living your dreams.

Why spending time on experimenting with ideas when you can approach the professionals or follow their footprints? It not only saves your time but also helps you avoid the mistakes and its consequences.

Work smart, find a mentor and learn the techniques and secrets to get ahead in your profession.

By following the above mentioned simple steps, you can accomplish your goals faster than before and enjoy your job. Working hard is necessary, but you cannot avoid to work smart in this rapidly changing world.
