Backpacking

Summer is primetime in Rocky Mountain National Park! It’s a great time to explore peaks, alpine lakes, waterfalls, and wildlife. Our backpacking trips explore the deepest reaches of Rocky Mountain National Park with trips to the stunning lakes, exhilarating summits, and meadows under a magnificent skyline where we’ll be able to see moose, deer, elk, black bears, and coyotes. Check out our summer backpacking dates here!

Rock Climbing Adventures in Colorado

Rock Climbing

It’s a great time to be on the wall! Summer rock climbing means warmer temperatures, longer days, drier environments, and the time to push farther and stronger. Whether it’s the challenging walls of Boulder Canyon, the classic multi-pitch of Eldorado, or the thrilling alpine of Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado comes to life in summer and shows why it’s one of the world’s rock climbing meccas. From beginner walls to some of the world’s most cutting-edge ascents, we’ll get you on the climb of your dreams.

Hiking

From short jaunts in the foothills of Boulder to the high trails of Rocky Mountain National Park, the hiking season is prime in Colorado during the summer. In Boulder, the hills around Chautauqua Park are exquisitely green and wildflowers are exploding as we explore trails such as Royal Arch, Mt. Sanitas, Green Mountain, and the Mesa Trail, which explores the valleys between the foothills of the Rockies. In Rocky Mountain National Park we’ll get to see Emerald Lake, one of Rocky Mountain National Park’s most iconic locales, or Gem Lake, set in the rocky walls of Lumpy Ridge.

Ready to take hiking to the next level? Join us on a 14er excursion, which hikes to the summit of Colorado’s iconic 14,000-foot peaks. From Mt. Bierstadt, Quandary, Grays and Torreys, to Longs Peak, the tallest and proudest peak in Rocky Mountain National Park, we’ll take you to the heights of Colorado’s skyline. Check out some of our hiking excursions here!

Biking

Colorado’s bike culture is legendary, both for its road and mountain biking. The Front Range has been the breeding ground for Ironman racers, X-Games champions, and Olympians. With hundreds of trails spread throughout the Front Range, from beginner and intermediate, to advanced black diamond drops, there’s something for everyone, set against the spectacular mountain backdrop of Boulder’s iconic Flatirons, Rocky Mountain National Park, or the Indian Peaks Wilderness.

Want to try a truly unique ride? Take the downhill route from Trail Ridge Road, one of the highest roads in the lower-48 states, starting just above 12,000-feet and riding down 4,000 feet in 7-miles into Estes Park. Come see the classic rides across the Front Range!

Fly Fishing and Rafting

Come explore some of the best fly-fishing in Colorado. From the wild lakes and streams of Rocky Mountain National Park, to the rushing waters in Boulder Canyon, and the wide expanse of the Upper Colorado River. After the snowmelt, the waters are flush with a number of trout species including brown, rainbow, cutthroat, and the greenback, which is native only to Colorado. We’ll show you some of the best fly-fishing in the west, from wading the rapids of local rivers to exploring the deep rust-red canyons of Northern Colorado by boat. There’s no better way to explore the river than deep between the walls. Come explore the best of Colorado’s fishing culture with us!

Along with fly-fishing, whitewater rafting is in full swing during the summer with thrilling excursions on Idaho Springs’ Clear Creek and on the Upper Colorado River. We’ll explore the former gold mining relics of the area as well as thrilling Class II to V rapids. This is some of the best whitewater riding in Colorado!
