Most economical way to arrive in Rajasthan

The most favourite tourist state in India, known for great royal culture and heritage, mega desert, spectacular lake, sky-top Aravali mountain range and world's most mind-blowing architectural monuments and palaces...Rajasthan, it is a state not penurious for any Introduction for travel freak. I have spent more than 10 years outside of this beautiful home state. Meanwhile, I moved around many other places in India. Though each place is unique on its own, yet I got many folks who deluged my brain with questions related to travel in Rajasthan. Most of them were my x-co-employees, and though I knew they too had a habit of asking in(JLT) just like that way, yet I was bound to reply. Whenever a travel addict pack luggage, the first worry hit her mind is "how to get the destination in the most available convenient way?". If you are not a frequent traveller or you don't want to save money during travel then this article will not solve your purpose of reading, as here I am going to give detail to save money if you are planning to touch the hills of Aravali and pout for a selfie on the sand-dunes of Jaisalmer.

The Train is the most economical way of transport in India, so in this article, I will let you know about train rout to Rajasthan from other cities.

International traveller-

(Note to Mind- Traveler can book train ticket in-advance by creating an account at IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) site. Please be prompt as to travel in India by train, you have to book ticket in-advance even before a month or two to get a confirm ticket, otherwise, a waiting ticket would be generated and with the same you can't travel until it gets confirmed before the chart prepare.

There is not any dearth of an option to reach any corner of the world if you are billionaire and tycoon of the worlds top conglomerate. But you should go through this post if you have limited resource to spend on travel.

Suppose an International traveller coming to India with an intention to explore Rajasthan then taking the connecting flight to any of its city say Jaipur or Udaipur will just put the burden on the pocket and save little bit time. The best way to reach low cost is by booking any flight to Delhi or Mumbai. Because most of the International flight from India is direct from these two neighbouring metro cities.

From Delhi-

Once you land-up in Delhi, take any train to Jaipur as the distance is just approx 270 KM. If you take a connecting flight or other domestic flight to Jaipur then it will cost you around 1500 to 3500 thousand bucks depending on availability, but taking the train in A/C chair car or Sleeper class cost you just around 200 to 500 bucks depending upon class you book the ticket. However, there are 12 direct trains daily connecting these two cities.

From Mumbai-

If you plan to travel Rajasthan and land at Mumbai then starting from Udaipur would be a better option as Udaipur is closer to Mumbai. Once you reach Udaipur you can move down to the different location of the state. There is a direct train available from Mumbai to Udaipur but on three days of the week only (Tuesday Thursday and Saturday). A bus is another option if you land on other days.

From Ahmedabad-

It is the third option after Delhi and Mumbai for the travellers who wish to begin their journey from Udaipur. Ahmedabad is another major international airport of India that connects many international destinations along with most of the domestic destinations too. The distance between Ahmedabad to Udaipur is just 240 KM. Sadly train is yet to begin between these two cities but there are so many buses running in a day. Luckily these cities are connected to national highway 8 hence reducing the journey time to 4 hours only. Taxi can take you within 3 hours.

Domestic Traveler-

Though domestic travellers are aware of many situations at root level related to travel in India yet to make their journey more convenient, I am going to highlight some points.

Coming from South India-

The distance between Rajasthan and south India is huge and direct train connectivity is also not much. So I suggest you start your journey from Udaipur as it is situated in the south of Rajasthan and closer to Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

Coming From North India-

Of-course for north Indian traveller Jaipur is the best option to enter as it has good connectivity to Delhi, Chandigarh and rest of the north Indian states.

This article intended to reduce your cost to reach Rajasthan. Once you are here you can set your itinerary according to your interest and for more help, your questions in comment box are always welcomed. Feel free to comment for more help and keep reading next article for more information about travel and Rajasthan. A big thank you...
