The location of the Property could not be any more perfect. Being able to see the Hanalei Bay

Seeing the Hanalei Bay and the Makana Mountains from just about anywhere on the property is one of the property’s best qualities.

Words to describe what you felt when you first arrived:

Walking into the lobby, I was welcomed by a spectacular chandelier that rained down from the ceiling almost touching the fountain. The spacious lobby gave an old world, yet modern feel to the Hotel and the friendly staff created a welcoming atmosphere.

With whom would you recommend staying at this hotel?

The property is fantastic for couples and families.

Tempt us: Name the most special place you discovered on this trip

The ocean in front of the hotel was so clear, we could see schools of fish swim by and little crabs crawling through the coral at the bottom of the ocean. Sharing the experience of seeing wildlife in its natural habitat with the family is really something you can’t put a price on.

What’s the best time of year to go in your opinion?

September through December is the best time of the year to go to Hawaii as there is the least amount or rainfall during that time. During my stay I did experience a little rain, but we were compensated with double rainbows!

Anything else to add?

Some areas of the hotel feel a little tired, but the hotel is set to undergo major renovations in what could be as early as next year. Some of the areas that will be renovated include the pool area, restaurants and rooms.

The only rooms with Lanais were the suites. Other room categories had floor to ceiling windows that open up across the width of the room to one of the most amazing views I have ever seen.

The Monarch Suite had a huge window next to the bathtub overlooking the bay and mountains. The view was perhaps one of the most beautiful views I have ever seen, to the point that it looked like a painting.

I’d also like to point out that the Kauai Grill, their signature restaurant was spectacular! The food not only looked like a piece of art, but it also tasted heavenly. The restaurant also overlooked the ocean, which gave us incredible sunsets during dinner.

Though I felt the beach in front of the hotel is perhaps a little small, it makes up for it with its great snorkeling.

Overall I wouldn’t hesitate on sending clients to this wonderful property, but I might wait a little until the renovations are completed.
