Courtesy a unique initiative by State’s government, Rajasthan is all set to be the conservation ground for Leopards.
‘Project Leopard’ is a first of its kind initiative in the world which will be led by Jhalana Reserve Forest in Jaipur and will subsequently be launched across 8 reserves and sanctuaries in Rajasthan. Jhalana Forest will be upgraded into a Leopard Reserve and this project will roll out in the ‘Wildlife Week’, i.e. the first week of October. This project aims at reducing the conflict between humans and this animal and also conserving the leopard population.
It sure is a one of its kind scheme and will not only be beneficial for the wildlife but it will also augment wildlife tourism in the state.
