HP Reef In Maldives -A Kaleidoscopic World of Coral, Fish and Wonders!

With such crystal clear waters teeming with a spectacular range of Marine life, it’s no surprise that some of the best things to see and do in Maldives, lie under the waves. Visit the HP Reef and witness some of this splendour!

Where?
The HP Reef is a marine protected area that lies to the south of the Girifushi Island within the North Malé Atoll. To get there you must hire a speedboat and diving equipment. The best and affordable option would be to book one of those Maldives holiday packages like the ones by Vacation Maldives; that will include snorkelling and diving tours in addition to accommodation.

What’s So Special?
Also known as the Rainbow Reef, the HP Reef is famous for its kaleidoscopic collection of coral including soft, blue corals. With its strong currents and dives up to 10 to 40 metres, the HP Reef is best recommended for experienced divers and not beginners.

Rich Fauna
The coral reefs that are incredibly rich in nourishment provide a home for a variety of pelagic and reef fish such as Oriental sweetlips, Napoleon wrasse, angel fish, reef sharks, manta rays, dog tooth tunas, and sea turtles. This amazing marine diversity has resulted in it being declared a Protected Marine Area.

Dramatic Views
Sprawled across a narrow channel, the HP Reef features a wide number of stunning formations the likes of spectacular caves, large blocks and an impressive 25m vertical, swim-through chimney.
