History of the Male National Museum
Established on the Maldivian National Day on 11th November 1952, the museum was launched by then Prime Minister, Mohamed Amin Didi. Housing an incredible collection of relics that ranges from pre-Islamic era to spectacular armours and a 13thcentury engraved wooden plank, the museum was constructed for the purpose of conserving the nation’s history and implanting a sense of patriotism in the minds of the public.
