Why The Croc Am I In Darwin?

1) Crocs (Duh)

Get up close and personal with Australia's most iconic toothed locals, the impressive Salt Water Crocodile. These bad boys can grow up to 6 meters long and boast some seriously impressive teeth. Sometimes we wonder if the heat up here goes to people's heads because usually this doesn't sound like our perfect idea of a beach date, but that never stopped the brave folk of Darwin. If you're prepared your will early and have slightly more guts then brains, hop into the charmingly named 'Cage of Death' and swim with them...yep, that's what we said. Welcome to the Northern Territory.

2) Australia's most famous sunsets

For a slightly less extreme version of Darwin's nature, soak in the views of the States most iconic sunset. The high vantage point of Darwin so close to the equator means you get some pretty spectacular long sunsets that will have your Instagram likes exploding. Head to Mindil Beach for the sunset markets and take your sightseeing with some well deserved shopping you never knew you needed.

3) Monsoons parties

The music is good and the house pizza is pretty great to but let's be honest, that's not why we're here. Darwin is so crazy that it doesn't even have to be a weekend, but if it is, all the better. With a club scene that makes you wish you hadn't added your manager on Snapchat, this place goes off. We're talking kissing booths, topless barmaids nights and some seriously questionable dance moves. You'd better be there.

3) Gateway to the Top End

Darwin is your gateway to the Top End. Whether you want waterfalls, hot springs, crocodiles, wetlands or bush walking, Darwin's got you covered. Take a trip out to Kakadu for some quality waterfall chasing or head to Litchfield to spot Crocs organic style. If you're up for something bigger, it's only a skip and a hop from Darwin to the Red Centre where you can snag your classic Uluru selfie and meet some local Kangaroos.
