Everything Is Big In Miniatur Wunderland

According to theculturetrip.com the top tourist destination and attraction in Germany is the Miniatur Wunderland. I thought that most travelers would prefer to see the capital city of a country because it’s usually where the best attractions are. The Miniatur Wunderland is located in Hamburg, the second largest city in Germany. Although Berlin is the capital and the largest city of the country the tourists will definitely not miss to see the Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg.

I could understand why the biggest miniature models in the world is popular among tourists. It is great and everything though minuscule in size looks big and real. You can see attractions from the mini USA, mini Scandinavia, mini Switzerland, mini Italy and a lot more.

When we were planning to visit the place, there was only one thing that fancied us. That was to see the world’s largest model airport, the Knuffingen airport. It was indeed large and the model planes looked real. It showed the night and day scenes when airplanes would land and take off.

The Rocky Mountains is among the models in the USA section

Model of The Vatican City in the Italy section

The largest model Railway

Behind me is the Grand Canyon in the USA section

Since this is a popular tourist destination getting inside is not always easy. My husband had checked the queue hours in its website and found out that it would open even on Christmas Eve. That was the time we spent to see the Miniatur Wunderland. The ticket queue was almost empty and the wait to get inside was only 15 minutes. There’s a waiting area where we could order drinks and at the same time see our queue number on a computer screen. Since it was Christmastime we got Germany’s traditional hot mulled wine for free while waiting.

If you plan to visit the Miniatur Wunderland  we suggest you check its website for any suitable time to get there.
