Today I have a new set of free Violet Crystal Textures from my collection. These mineral textures always make me think of abstract alien landscapes. And by adding a violet color to the images I think it gave them a more mystical outlook. As for all my rock-crystal textures they come from an mineral called Quartz, from the east part of Iceland. Shot with my 50mm macro lens making the details really nice, therefore giving the textures a lot of depth of field.

Rock crystals like this are very abstract in nature and almost look like old ice. The surface is dirty and imperfect, making them resemble cliffs and mountains from far away worlds. I can see these images being used as backgrounds for posters and covers as well as overlays to create abstract effects to your designs.
