Inexpensive St. Patrick’s Day Wreath

Valentine’s day will be behind us soon, so I am thinking ahead to St. Patrick’s Day.  I have been wanting to make a Wreath for St. Patrick’s Day and when I was in the Dollar Tree the other day they had some cute supplies for a wreath.  I did have a couple items on hand already, but they were inexpensive from Wal-Mart. Hobby Lobby and the Dollar Tree also sell those items as well.

Total cost for the wreath was only $6.

Supplies:

  • Foam wreath $1 from Dollar Tree
  • Burlap string (I had on hand from Wal-mart for $3)
  • Green ribbon $1 from Hobby Lobby
  • 12 pk Shamrocks $1 from Dollar Tree
  • Hot glue Gun with glue sticks (You could use another type of craft glue)

Start by gluing one end of the burlap String to the wreath the start wrapping the string all around the wreath until it is completely covered with the string.  Be sure to push your string close together so there aren’t any gaps.  You could also use burlap ribbon, the Dollar Tree sells it.

Once covered in the burlap string you are going to glue one end of the green ribbon to the wreath and string it around the wreath, as shown, and glue the other end to the wreath.

Then, add as many or little green shamrocks as you like.  As you can see I liked it better with just 2 shamrocks.  I have several shamrocks left over so I am going to have to make something else with them.
