The Recipe

These Low-Carb Easy Grilled Jalapeño Burgers are loaded with flavor. Minced onion and jalapeño pepper not only add flavor, but also make them tender and juicy. A touch of Worcestershire sauce makes them even more tasty.

I love to melt a bit of cheese on top, but this isn’t necessary. These burgers can stand on their own, so just leave it off if you eat dairy-free, Whole-30, or if you simply don’t have any cheese in your fridge.

These burgers are perfect to spice up a family cook-out and quick and easy to make.

The Inspiration

I can’t take credit for the idea for these burgers. This Recipe was actually my son, Wyatt’s idea. I generally make my burgers very simply and believe that good quality beef can stand on its own. Dividing a pound of beef into four portions, patting each portion into a patty, then sprinkling with sea salt and freshly ground pepper is my idea of a good burger.

My son, on the other hand, wanted a change from the same old burgers. He’s becoming very interested in cooking and has enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen. One evening, he created these burgers and they were a hit with the whole family.

He hadn’t written down the recipe, so I recreated it and tested a few versions. I liked the patties more each time I made them.

Tips and Tricks

I always recommend using high quality ingredients for the best results in any recipe. For this recipe, I used my homegrown grass-fed, grass-finished beef. I prefer grass-fed, grass-finished beef because it has more healthy fats in it.

I am lucky to live in an area where I can raise my own meat or purchase quality grass-finished meat at the local farmer’s market. However, not everyone has access to this type of product.

Fortunately, there are companies, like Butcherbox, that have popped up to make it easier for everyone to get high quality meat. As an affiliate, I can share a special deal with my followers. New customers who sign up between September 1, 2018 and September 30th, 2018, will receive 2 pounds of ground beef in every order for the duration of their subscription. Click here for details.

The cheese I put on top of the burgers is optional for this recipe. If you decide to use cheese, feel free to be creative. While cheddar is a commonly combined with Jalapeño, I have also found that a smoked gouda works wonderfully with this recipe.

Cheese isn’t the only topping that pairs well with these burgers. A few strips of bacon, sliced avocado, a spoonful of salsa, or a bit of mayonnaise or sour cream would all make excellent toppings.

I just serve these on a bed of lettuce. If you prefer, you could use a low-carb wrap or bun. Enjoy!
