Tangra Fish Curry

Tangra Fish Curry or Tangra Macher Jhal is one of the tasty and healthy fish recipe which has really some tempting preparations in Bengali cuisine.

Friends! as you know Fish is among the healthiest foods on the planet. It is loaded with important nutrients, such as protein and vitamin D. Fish is also the world’s best source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are incredibly important for your body and brain. Okay! let’s focus on the recipe.

INGREDIENTS
  • Tangra fish: 6-8 pic
  • Spring Onion chopped: 1/2 bunch
  • Kalo Jira: 1/2 tsp
  • Tomato: 2 medium
  • Onion paste: 2 large
  • Ginger paste: 1tsp
  • Turmeric powder: 2tsp
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Sugar (to taste)
  • Mustard Oil

TIME REQUIRED : Less than 30 minutes

PROCEDURE

STEP 1

Clean the fish, sprinkle the turmeric pd and salt on the fish and rub them. keep aside for 15-20 min.

STEP 2

Heat some oil in a pan, fry the fish until they are light brown on both side. Remove the fried fish in the pan and keep aside.

STEP 3

Now take a pan and add chopped spring onions and saute till the onion becomes translucent. Remove the spring onions in the pan and keep aside.

STEP 4

Add some oil and kalo jira in the pan. then add onion paste and saute till the onion becomes light brown.

STEP 5

Next add Ginger paste, Tomatoes, Turmeric pd, Red Chilli pd, Salt and Sugar and saute for few mins. Once oil starts separating from masala add some water and bring it to boil.

STEP 6

Add spring Onion, green Chilies and Tangra Fish keep it on simmer with a cover for few min.

STEP 7

After few min open the lid and check for your desired consistency of the gravy and remove from pan serve hot with plain rice.
