In terms of plot, don't expect a lot out of this first instalment. It's an introduction to the characters, a set-up of the overarching concept, and a tease of what's to come. That said, it's a interesting tale with a lot of atmosphere, some genuine chills, and more than enough mystery to make you want to keep reading.
What is Gate 4, you might ask? Fair question, but what you should really be asking is what's on the other side, and what does Paul know about putting it there.
