The Winning Six

I am an avid cricket fan.

The Nidhas Trophy 2018 final, proved to be a delight to watch in spite of the hosts, Sri Lanka not playing. Thanks to the Nagin Dance of the Bangladesh team, during their previous fixtures with the hosts, the home crowd rallied behind India during the final.

Twenty-20 cricket is always considered more of an entertainment form of cricket than a technique or patience based. True to the nature of the game, the Nidhas Trophy final, played to celebrate the 70th Independence day celebrations of Sri Lanka, proved to be entertainment based. The match swung either way till the last ball, when India's second best limited overs cricket wicket keeper, Dinesh Karthik, mauled Soumya Sarkar, the not so experienced death overs bowler of the Bangladesh Team, for a maximum, when that was exactly what was needed!

While that shot sealed Dinesh Karthik in the minds of a billion cricket fans, it also deprived us an opportunity (and for good), to see the Naagin Dance of the Bangladesh team. It's often said Karma bites you back, and this time, yet again it got proved, with the Bangladesh team at the receiving end.

Never celebrate before winning the match, never count the chicken before they hatch because...

Cricket is, no doubt, a game of glorious uncertainties.
