Redmi Y2 price in India confirmed, two RAM and storage flavors will be launched

The Xiaomi Redmi S2, which was recently launched in China, is going to be launched as the Redmi Y2 in India. It will be an Amazon India exclusive, starting on the 7th of June. The smartphone comes with less powerful hardware than what you would expect to see on something like the Redmi Note 5 Pro, but the added benefit here is that it is going to cost less for the average buyer.

We have now received word on the confirmed pricing of the Redmi Y2, with the smartphone getting launched in India bearing two Ram Models and these two RAM models are going to be running varied levels of internal storage. While Twitter user @IshanAgarwal24 had guessed the pricing of the Redmi Y2 in India earlier, we can now confirm the pricing of the upcoming smartphone. Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Y series of smartphones in India last year, targeting selfie-loving consumers in the country.

Redmi Y2: Price In India To Start From Rs. 9,999

The starting price of the Redmi Y2 is going to be Rs. 9,999 in India and it will feature 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. If this much storage is not enough for you, then there are two options you can choose. You can either opt to purchase the more powerful version, which will grant you 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, or you can purchase a microSD card to expand that existing storage.

Both RAM and storage models are going to have the same chipset, which is a Snapdragon 625. The smartphone will also come with an 18:9 aspect ratio, with a 5.99-inch LCD panel and a 1440 x 720 HD+ resolution. The battery capacity is 3080mAh, which is less than the 4000mAh battery present in the Redmi Note 5 Pro. Both smartphones feature the same screen size so buyers might think that Xiaomi is not being fair to them.

Luckily, the resolution is HD+ and not full HD+, which is 2160 x 1080. Having a 1440 x 720 resolution means that the Redmi Y2 will consume less battery, giving users more screen-on time as a result. The rest of the specifications include a hybrid dual-SIM card slot, a 16MP selfie camera that also comes with a soft LED flash and a dual-camera setup at the back. The Redmi Y2 will also have a fingerprint reader at the back but it will also have the face unlock feature like the Redmi Note 5 Pro.
