My Box

Good day and welcome to my blog. It’s time for Poetry, Are you excited? So today, I’ll be bringing to you one of my deepest poems. It’s titled…. (well its right there at the top of the post) and it’s all about insecurities. We all have those, things we are haunted by but want no one to judge us by. I’ll be talking about it in my next post, so look forward to that. But in the mean time, let’s read the poem:

 My Box

Do I need to open my box?
Do you need to see?
If I beg you well enough,
Would you give in to my plea?
Cause down in this box,
Are the things that make me weak,
This box is the resting place of my insecurities.
Cause down in this box are the records of my misplaced trust,
And right beside it,
The history of my misgiven love.

Do you really want to see
David Cromwell without clothes?
Cause in this box shows how I gave the world my heart,
But all it ever wanted was my soul.
Do you really want to hold the vials of venom that make me weak?
To the door of weapons of Cromwell’s destruction,
Do you really want to hold the key?
If I let you see me for me
Would you turn your back and leave?
Or would you stay out of pity?
Do you really want to take a look into my box?
Do you want to see how I chose to rot
Because of a simple grudge?
Or how I lost control, like an expired time bomb.

Do you really want to understand the Cromwell phenomenon?
To why sometimes he’s on top of the world
And others he chose to relate with no one.
Maybe if you could understand why he acts the way he does,
Just maybe for every time his actions made you lost,
You would not respond with your gun,
Maybe, just maybe you’d finally treat him with caution.

But the key to understanding,
Lies in a box,
A box he wishes for no man to see.
A box that he so desperately wishes to be empty
Only if he knew the key,
Was the open his box up to the world
And finally set his demons free.

-Cromwell

So that’s the poem. I’m quite sure you saw a little bit of yourself in the lines of the poem, no worries the next post is going to be a talk all about it. I hope you were able to get something from my poetry. If you haven’t hit that Follow button, it’s never too late and if you have anything to say, the comment box is and will always be yours.

Have a nice day.
