Interpol’s Environmental Crime Division has joined the fight to stop
tigers from becoming extinct in the wild. ‘Project Predator’ was announced at the 80th Interpol General Assembly in Hanoi, Vietnam, on Nov. 3rd. officials from 13 tiger range countries will work with international organizations including the Smithsonian Institution, US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the UK’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
According to Interpol loss of habitat and poaching are the reasons that Asia’s wild tiger population has
decrease from about 100,000 in 1900 to less than 3,500 today.
