New York City Metro Report: September 2019

The Zumper New York City Metro Area Report Analyzed Active Listings in August 2019 across 26 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the Fastest Growing rents. The New York one bedroom median rent was $1,966 last month.

The Most Expensive

–New York City was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $3,030.

–Hoboken rent grew 5.0% last month to $2,530 and ranked as the second priciest city.

–Fort Lee was third with rent priced at $2,500.

The Least Expensive

-Bridgeport ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $1,150.

–East Orange was second with rent at $1,160.

-Newark ranked as third with rent up 5.2% last month to $1,210.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

–Paterson had the fastest growing rent, up 15.0% since this time last year.

–New Rochelle saw rent climb 14.8%, making it the second fastest growing.

–Yonkers was third with rent growing 9.7%

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

–Newark had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 5.2%.

–Hoboken rent jumped 5.0% last month, making it the second fastest growing.

–Danbury and Elizabeth ranked as third with rent up 4.8%.
