Don’t Have Time For Employee Recognition? Read This:

As a boss or manager your day probably starts before the rest of the staff gets there, and ends long after they’ve gone home. Throughout the day you’ve handled numerous crisis, and responded to countless emails and phone calls.

By the time the day is finally done you’re exhausted, but it is still important to find the time and energy to give your employees Recognition for their hard work.

After all, your success depends on your staff. If they feel neglected motivation and productivity often decrease, and this is detrimental to any business. Here are a few tips on how to maximize your time so you can give employees the recognition they deserve.

Have a team leader in place.

Your Busy Schedule makes it almost impossible to have the face time you need with your team. This means that you might not always be kept in the loop. To ensure that you always have an “ear to the ground”, consider having a team leader in place.

This way employees always feel like they have someone to go to with their grievances, and you won’t be caught unaware if something important happens that needs to be addressed or celebrated.

Make sure to have backups.

Chances are you will never have enough time to run out and buy a card or small reward every time one is warranted at work. Keeping a set of cards on hand will ensure you can always send a note of thanks or congratulations whenever it is needed. Your employees will appreciate the gesture, and you won’t have to take time out of your busy schedule to constantly run to the store.

Give recognition on the go.

Post-it notes are an effective way to quickly let an employee know that their work is appreciated, without taking time out of your busy day. The brightly colored pieces of paper ensure that other employees will notice the recognition, and this can even inspire and motivate them. You can leave the notes on desks, work stations or anywhere else the employee is sure to notice them whenever you notice a little extra recognition is deserved.

Get the entire team involved.

One of the most effective ways to motivate and reward your team, is to get everyone involved in recognizing a staff member. Peer recognition is important among employees, and it is also a clever way to build and strengthen team working skills. Allowing your staff to handle the details not only ensures that everyone feels like they are an important part of the team, it also allows you to concentrate on other aspects of your job.

Having a busy schedule is never an excuse to neglect your employees. They deserve to be recognized for their hard work and efforts, and when they feel that they are not appreciated morale and productivity usually plummet. If you implement these few tips into your workplace culture, it will be possible to stay current with your staff without falling behind in your schedule.
