Project: Organization Wide Costing Implementation for CIL
The Client: Cenosphere India Limited, Kolkata. No 1 Indian company in the category of Cenosphere manufacturing

Business Need: The Cost Application by CIL was required to automate the procedures for preparation of cost sheet, basis for collection, allocation and absorption of costs and the interface with the underlying financial accounting system to generate cost reports as required as per MCA Circulars and MIS requirement of management.

Project Synopsis: The objective of Cost Application is to keep track of all kind of Cost and categorize them in right bucket for Cost Control. After detailed study of the business process, we realized there are 7 segments of the costing. Costing has been integrated with the existing account. For any accounting transaction there is a default Cost Code. But you can change it at the time of transaction. A sample cost code is 10-11-12-13-20-99-161 The developed system is integrated with the entity like Employee, Transport, Vendor, Customer, Inventory, Accounts and payments. Snaps team provided both the functional and technical solution.

The cost accounting system has been formulated to meet the following objectives:
• To ascertain plant wise cost of Cenosphere / by products processed.
• To analyse cost variances and take remedial actions where required.

• Inventory management system keeps track to item receipt, item issue, and return and any time you will know the cost of the inventory.
• Keeping track of all kind of voucher bank payment, bank receipt, cash payment, cash receipt, journal voucher.
• This system takes care of multi currency, multi unit of measurement. Same invoice can be generated in USD, RS, EUR, AED etc. and unit of measurement can be chosen in lb/ kg/ metric ton at any point of the transaction.
• The search and reporting system is robust. You can get any kinds of transaction history from the search option. You can dynamically generate the report based on your input criteria.
• This project comply cost audit guidelines specified by Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA).
