Jillian Tyack, Associate Client Manager

Chandra: What path did you take to your current position?

Jillian:  Coming to work for Point It was a very easy choice for me; from what I had read on the website and through reviews on the company I knew it was a good fit. The culture and values that the company stand for are ones that I agree with and I am excited about the opportunity that it gives me to grow. Knowing that this company will give me a chance to make and follow my own path with their guidance was a big draw for me.

Chandra: Why did you choose Point It?

Jillian:  While studying for my undergraduate degree, I was very unsure of what I wanted to do. It wasn’t until my senior year that I actually became interested in communication and more specifically the outlets Point It specializes in. With this direction, I decided to pursue marketing not only because I could work with people, but because it was such a big field I knew that I could find the right fit for me. I then made the decision to go back to school for my master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications. During my studies I gained a passion for digital marketing which lead me to find an agency with that as a focus.

Chandra: What are you most excited about in your new role?

Jillian:  The most exciting thing for me in this new role is the opportunity to learn more. Being new to the PPC world I look forward to learning the different processes and opportunities that we can bring to our clients and drive their success. Starting in the busiest time of the year – the holiday season – is an advantage, as it is an opportunity to learn a lot quickly.

Chandra: If someone wanted to follow in your footsteps, what piece of advice would you offer them?

Jillian:  The advice I would give someone following in my footsteps is to stick to what you want and not give up. Finding the right job for me was a very challenging and disheartening experience that lasted almost a year. There were many times when I considered finding a different “easier” path that was not in digital marketing but I just couldn’t do it. I worked jobs I didn’t like to give myself the opportunity to focus on my job hunt and in the end it paid off and I am in a field and agency I want to be in.
