Jaguar Group, India’s leading complete bathroom and lighting solutions brand hosted the 3rd edition of Design Confab in Bangalore, following the overwhelming response received in Pune and Ahmedabad. The unique platform brought together the most creative and capable minds from the fields of architecture and design to share their thoughts and ideation process with the fraternity.
Design Confab is a knowledge platform created to celebrate and propagate the ‘spirit of design’ by engaging with celebrated architects and designers from across the country. An opportunity to learn from and share their design philosophy over a one-day interactive session, it also presents design professionals with a forum to meet and network with like-minded professionals.
The theme for the 3rd edition of Design Confab was ‘Design to Sustain or Scale: Designing for Diversified India’. Some of the topics discussed by the speakers during the session included responsible architecture, sustaining design consistency, issues and challenges faced when designing for diversified India, an architecture for better cities and a better life.
With increasing pressure to improve all facets of building design, making structures responsive in every sense is a default mandate. Aptly, ‘Contextual Responses’ was the subject for the keynote address at Design ConFab, delivered by the highly regarded architect Sanjay Puri. This was followed by a panel discussion with leading architects and designers from across India who shared their design philosophy. The renowned panelists included Nisha Mathew hosh, Principal Architect, Mathew and Ghosh Architects, Husna Rahaman, Principal Architect & Interior Designer, Fulcrum Studio, Naresh V Narasimhan, Principal Architect, Venkataramanan Associates, Nejeeb Khan, Principal Architect, KGD-Architecture and Sharukh Mistry, Principal Architect & Director, Mistry Architects. The session was moderated by Gayathri Shetty & Namith Varma Principal Architect, Gayathri & Namith Architects (GNA).
Jaquar Group’s Director and Promoter, Mr. Rajesh Mehra also took the occasion to award special recognition to architects Krishnarao Jaisim and Shahrukh Mistry for their contribution to the field of design and architecture.
