Babies can capture the rhythm of language

Babies are born with a special sensitivity to Capture the rhythmic patterns of their parents’ Language, a perception that can initiate the process of language learning, according to a study published in the scientific journal ‘Nature’. It also indicates that the key to this behavior can be found in your hands.

The authors of the study examined the hand movements of babies with a normal hearing level and who were born to deaf parents. On the other hand, they compared them with the movements of other babies born to parents without hearing problems.”Babies who heard well but whose parents were deaf made a special movement with their hands, with a rhythmic pattern specific and different from the movement of other children’s hands,” say researchers at Darmouth College in Hanover, United States. “We assumed that it was a movement of linguistic rhythm and, in fact, it was treated as a babbling with the hands”.And the fact is that the same study determines that the babbling of babies, something natural and that happens to all those who enjoy good hearing health, marks the moment of development in which the little ones start the way to the spoken language

The two groups of babies were equal in their development with the only difference that some received gestural language (movements of hands and mouth) and others only verbal.
