The free DNS Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 service now on iOS and Android

On April 1, the day of the innocents here in the United States, Cloudflare launched a free DNS service called Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 and against all the recommendations not to launch it that day, as many might believe that it was a joke , they launched it in beta, which according to the company was a success.

DNS is a server that indicates where everything is on the Internet, it is like a directory that translates a domain name like our geeksroom.com into an IP address to know where our domain is hosted. Unfortunately, the DNS that we use from our Internet providers are often slow and not so secure. Google, Comodo and others, such as Cloudflare with 1.1.1.1 offer to improve that speed of response and in the case of the latter company, improve privacy.

Now and after the beta, Cloudflare announced the launch of its DNS service for Android and iOS through an application.

Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 for iOS and Android offers VPN to send traffic to servers 1.1.1.1 and thus improve the speed. It also protects the traffic from the eyes of our telephony providers by preventing them from tracking our browsing history. What’s more, Cloudflare says it does not track traffic or include commercial ads.

Perhaps not all users benefit from an increase in speed, but testing does not cost anything, and if you do not notice an increase in speed, the privacy it offers is also important.
