Monex Group Targets US Cryptor

The Japanese financial corporation Monex Group plans to launch a service on cryptocurrency trading in the United States early next year. This was announced at the joint press conference of Monex and its subsidiary TradeStation,  reports  Cointelegraph Japan.

TradeStation President John Bartleman (John Bartleman) said that the company expects to receive a license from the regulator Money Transmitter License, which will provide a full range of financial services with crypto and fiatnymi currencies. The service will be focused on institutional investors. The first crypto-assets available on the new platform will be Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC), Etherium (ETH) and Ripple (XRP).

In addition, John Bartleman confirmed that the company had participated in a recent round of funding for the launch of ErisX, a regulated cryptobirge with Nasdaq and Fidelity Investments. As President of TradeStation noted, he “would like to develop a cryptocurrency business in cooperation with a company like ErisX”.

Earlier, another subsidiary of the Monex Group, the Japanese crypto-exchange of Coincheck, also announced plans to enter the American cryptocurrency market. At a press conference, Coincheck President Toshihiko Katsuya (Toshihiko Katsuya) said that the stock exchange is still in the process of resuming operations in Japan, and it will take longer than expected.

Recall that the Monex Group bought Coincheck, which suffered in January from hacking, for $ 530 million in April of this year. As of the end of the third quarter, the exchange acquired for $ 33.4 million brought another $ 7.5 million of losses from the moment of purchase.
