On the XL Release side of the house, we’ve added important features to provide better release visibility and make it easier to stay compliant. A new feature—Release Relationship View—lets you see how your releases and templates relate to each other in a combined big-picture view. It also shows you how your releases are started and how they depend on each other, giving your teams a deeper and better understanding of the way releases interact and offering early insight into where problems might occur.

In the 7.6 release, we’re also offering a new plugin manager that makes it easier to find and integrate plugins into your XL Release instance. One of the great features of XL Release is that it helps you glue together different integrations in an easy, intuitive way. By expanding our plugin management functionality, we’re making this even better.

Template Version Control
To further assist your compliance initiatives and improve visibility into your release process, we’ve added Template Version Control features, including template version numbers and advanced version management capabilities for templates. XL Release now lets you manage templates in a similar fashion to code in source control. You can track multiple versions of a template, revert to previous versions, label versions, and even compare them. All told, these changes boost your visibility into and control over changes made to your release process, ensuring you know what happened when and can easily recover when a template change isn’t ideal.

New Plugin Integrations
Beyond this internal auditing layer within XL Release, we’re also delivering new plugin integrations with leading compliance providers such as SonarQube, BlackDuck, and HP Fortify. These integrations will allow you to easily embed code compliance and security auditing within your XL Release delivery pipelines. You can use these plugins to ensure your releases do not proceed without passing compliance and raise risks early if there are any problems.
