So, What Is Slice The Pie About? What is SliceThePie.com and what’s its purpose? Slice The Pie or SliceThePie.com is a website dedicated to individuals looking to make some extra money online, you as the reviewer get compensated from writing reviews on a variety of topics such as fashionable clothes, music, watching commercials, and/or finally the Lucky Dip (random reviews). The site was developed to give the participants within the program feedback or advice on the music they play, the clothes there creating, the commercials that there making and the Lucky Dip is anything random which is whatever happens to be in that category at that time. Slice The Pie has a straightforward concept where you Review anything and you get paid for it, but this is more for fun or for people that want a little cash on the side nothing more, you won’t make a decent income to make a living out of it, you can forget about that! I will be getting into more detail and the breakdown of the Slice The Pie program.

The Music In Slice The Pie

Music is inevitable (unavoidable) where everyone can vouch for or appreciate. There’s a variety of songs and genres being produced everyday such as the Rick Astley’s (Never Gonna Give You Up) one hit wonders, some are classics and some are forgettable. Now can you seriously ask yourself, how cool would it be to judge other musicians, be a musical critic and get paid? I know! Slice the Pie is the only program on the internet where the music industry actually cares about what you say (crazy right) and pay you for your time.

Slice The Pie provides the end user with new and unreleased songs that you then need to review and provide your opinion. Slice The Pie was an innovation back in 2007 when it first began and even still, today in 2017. They are the very first musical medium (Not Music Xray) in where unknown and aspiring musical artists can showcase their tracks or songs just for a review from “US” the music critics. The ratings are based on a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest) and these ratings are in fact so important that it can provide these starving musical talents an opportunity to break out and explode into the music industry with potential music deals, radio gigs and demos. A shot at success give or take and it’s the reviews we write that can help them in determining that outcome if “we” the critics provide them with the right feedback. It benefits both the critics and the music artists in which the money benefits the reviewer and the feedback helps the musicians fine tune their songs in a simple yet effective system.

How Does Slice The Pie Work?

Slice The Pie like I mentioned earlier is a medium that provides unsigned and independent musicians to the music critics or as they say “scouts” where we will critique the songs they provide us. The songs that the artists provide us with are all typical 3 or 4 minute songs but we are only entitled to listen to the first 90 seconds or a minute and a half of it and then rate the song from a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest) and give our feedback on the song with at least a paragraph or 70 or so words and that’s it. These limitations that Slice The Pie utilize are set in place so that the reviews don’t come across as spammy or rushed, so the musicians are given helpful thorough reviews that actually critique there talent on a grand scale.

The music critics or scouts as they call us are given tracks without prior knowledge of the songs name or the artist, its anonymous. Once the song starts to play then it’s finally revealed what the name of the band or song is after your done finishing writing up your in-depth review. If you happen to like the song then you can obviously listen to the song in its entirety if you desire but if you don’t really care about the song then just rate it and carry on. Besides the critiquing of music reviews online you can also like I mentioned prior make money watching commercials, get paid to write for the fashion items, do the lucky dip (random reviews) or do reviews on your mobile device. I’ve provided below a sample screen of what Slice The Pie has to offer.

How Do You Make Money?

Let’s get into the nitty gritty details of the program, so once you create an account with Slice The Pie and your logged on then you can begin the money making process. Anytime that your logged into your account and your reviewing a particular song and your done critiquing it, it’s considered a “session time.” At that point, you have 2 options in which you are guaranteed the income your promised. Below this paragraph for example is what it would be like to review a song and how to go about making money with the system.

  • When reviewing a song for example, you should pay close attention to the song as a whole and listen to the lyrics, how the vocals sounded, instruments played, the melody and then finally the arrangement. The more in-depth with your review you are and with your thorough constructive criticism, it’s that much greater for you as far as being compensated. As a scout, your compensated on how well you write your music reviews and it can vary based on the length. Usually a 70-word review would make you about 3 or 4 cents nothing to brag about, whereas a 100 or more word reviews might make you as much as 5 or 6 cents, I know still not great!
  • As a scout, your rating is based on a scale from 1 to 5 stars (1 being the lowest and 5 stars being the highest), the higher your star rating the more your compensated, at one time you would have been able to make about 10 or 15 cents per review, not anymore they got cheaper, haha. All new participants in the Slice The Pie program start off with a 1 star rating, as a 1 star reviewing you’d make about 1 cent per review or 1 cent X 60 minutes that would equate to $0.40 per hour, not worth bragging about but if you do it for fun than it’s okay, but no way to make a living, see I told you so! Let’s put it this way even if you wrote the worst reviews then you guaranteed to make at least 1 cent per song review. Once your star rating increases to about 3 or potentially all the way up to 5 stars then your compensated much greater. In my experiences in the past with the program I was a 5-star reviewer but with the new system I haven’t been able to exceed the 3-star rating, they may have changed their scoring or grading algorithm.
