Lawyer Flashes High School Basketball Team

Summary: An Indianapolis lawyer knowingly flashed a school bus carrying a girl’s high school basketball team to their basketball tournament.

An Indianapolis lawyer is accused of exposing himself to a School bus filled with high school girls on their way to a game. The lawyer is accused of doing this not just once but twice.

A Norwell High School girls’ Basketball team was traveling to a tournament in June when they got an unpleasant image. A car drove up next to the bus traveling on the I-70 near the airport, gave the girls a show and then exited the freeway at the next exit before the girls could catch the License Plate of the Honda CRV.

Their coach Eric Thornton, who was driving the bus, said, “He knew it was a school bus. (He) knew it was high school aged females on the bus.” He added, “The girls were horrified and just very disturbed.” Since Thornton or any of the girls were unable to get the license plate on the car, he turned to social media to identify the driver.

Thornton posted a photo of the driver taken right before the incident to Facebook. The post stated, “Facebook I Could Use Your Help – The man in these pictures decided to expose himself to our high school girls basketball team earlier today while on their way to a tournament. The highway patrol was notified but he exited the highway before we could get his license plate. Will you help me out by sharing this post in hopes of revealing his identity. It was in Indianapolis close to the airport. He drives a mid 2000’s Honda CRV.”

Soon after the Facebook post made its rounds to someone in Union City that confirmed they had a similar incident with their girls’ basketball team. They had a driver in the same type of car flash their team in February. Thornton explained, “Once we found out that he’d done it before it was obvious this was a pattern.”

Eventually someone on Facebook recognized the man in the photo and contacted the investigators. The man was identified by police as Raymond Fairchild, 71. A law office in downtown Indianapolis is listed under his name.

Police charged Fairchild with six counts of public nudity and indecency charges. His first court appearance will be in October.

Thornton wants Fairchild to be punished. “He should never be allowed to practice law again in my opinion,” he said. “He should be put away for a time. It’s a crime against innocent, naïve girls who just saw abnormal behavior and had no idea what would happen next. He needs to be severely punished for his behavior.”

Do you think Fairchild should lose his law license? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
