Does anyone else remember what the brand Eyeko used to look like?

If you are a million years old like me, you will know their famous product was a Mascara in a toothpaste like tube, which was in pink packaging with a sweet kawaii cartoon girl as the logo. It was super sweet and cute back then. 

These days the brand has upgraded to an elegant and more grown up look. Although the old look was sweet, the new chic look is also very nice. 

I was sent a selection of products to try as it’s been a whilst since I’ve used the range. Let’s take a look at everything! 

So let’s start with the Eye Make Up Remover wipes (£6).

There are ten moist wipes in this slim pack which promises to remove waterproof make up. 

I tried these and they are super effective. On waterproof mascara – yes they work but you might need more than one sheet and you only get 10 in there! So these would be good for a weekend away or if you were on a flight for example, as they are very effective but a week or two away – you might want a few packs. 

Eyeko’s Brow Liner pen (£15) comes in light to medium and medium to dark. 

This works like a liquid liner type pen except it’s great for brows beacause the brush is soft and easy to use, to create natural strokes. 

The pigment is like a sheer brown so again, it avoids a ridiculously heavy eyebrow and it stains, making it a long lasting colour. This is recommended if you prefer a natural finish – it’s quite idiot proof. 

Eyeko Brow Gel (£18) is another product that is great if you like a natural but groomed eyebrow. There is a tint in there to add definition but again, it is impossible to get wrong. It’s good for taming unruly brows too.  This is the kind of product I use daily as I don’t feel the need to over draw my brows but they do need a mini tidy and also to get any powder or foundation that has stuck on to my eyebrows. 

The brush is small and quite stiff – it’s good for wiggling through the brows throughly and it’s not so big that it goes everywhere. 

Eyeko has a huge range of mascaras for all sorts of needs. I have the Lengthening Skinny Brush mascara (£18), which is good for fine Lashes like mine. The brush is iconic in my opinion! This is what the original Eyeko mascara brushes used to look like with the unique spiral like bristles! 

I love the tube by the way, always have – because it means you can squeeze and get use of all the product. 

Although I like this mascara when I have had a lash perm, I have to say- it adds length and definition easily but it does not hold curl.  Therefore I would use this as a second mascara to go on top of my curl holding one – or it’s one I would use when I’ve had a lash perm.  I like how this gives a separated, none clumpy effect. 

The Black Magic Lash Boost (£30) product is a love or hate product – these are black lash fibres which add volume to your lashes. There are other products around like this, but one good thing about the Eyeko one is that it’s made from 100% natural plant based fibres. 

Whilst I love the idea of this and yet, it does add bulk, I have to say I found these were too heavy for my lashes – they simply weighed them down making them flop.  Also, I have sensitive eyes and these were more likely to cause watering and irritation, even when I was careful not to flick the brush (remember to apply mascara first to get these to stick to the lashes, then another coat on top to seal them in). 

If you have lashes that are naturally curl and can take the weight of these, they are worth a go if you want thicker looking lashes. 

Finally the Eyeko black eyeliner (£16). Eyeko are known for their eyeliners and I am a fan too. 

This liquid liner is very pigmented and a true rich dark black. It also lasts once it tries without any transferring. 

The nib is described as fine but I don’t think it is compared to some other ones – you can hold it on it’s side for a thick line to use the very very tip for a thinner line. There is an art to it and you might need to practise as this one really does resemble a felt tip pen.

Overall, Eyeko is still a promising brand, but it’s a case of finding what works for you in the range. 

My persoanl favourites are the brow products which I found to be really natural looking and easy to use with minimal fuss.
