Salman Ahmad, president of Students Islamic Organisation's city division, said community-based groups played an important role at universities. "While one understands that political interference should be restricted on campuses, Communitybased Organisations help students who moved to an unfamiliar city to pursue higher education. Such students often face issues with hostel accommodation," he said.
