Beverly Park students surprised with laptops from Olympic Gold Medalists

On Wednesday, Oct. 10, students at Beverly Park Elementary School were surprised with new laptops given out by U.S. Olympic Gold Medalists.

U.S. Olympic Gold Medalists Monique Lamoureux-Morando and Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson spoke at a digital literacy assembly at the school, with a goal of helping to accelerate access to technology resources for low-income students.

During the rally, 150 students were recognized as ‘digital ambassadors’ and surprised with new laptops to help expand their educational opportunities.

Cohen also announced the company is making a grant donation to the Highline Schools Foundation for district-wide technology/STEM teachers. This will help support the District’s strategic plan of ensuring every student in the class of 2026 graduates tech-savvy and tech-literate.

This was all part of the Comcast Washington Internet Essentials Campaign, which was recently expanded for low-income U.S. veterans across the state this week.
