On Wednesday, Oct. 10, students at Beverly Park Elementary School were surprised with new laptops given out by U.S. Olympic Gold Medalists.
U.S. Olympic Gold Medalists Monique Lamoureux-Morando and Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson spoke at a digital literacy assembly at the school, with a goal of helping to accelerate access to technology resources for low-income students.
During the rally, 150 students were recognized as ‘digital ambassadors’ and surprised with new laptops to help expand their educational opportunities.

Cohen also announced the company is making a grant donation to the Highline Schools Foundation for district-wide technology/STEM teachers. This will help support the District’s strategic plan of ensuring every student in the class of 2026 graduates tech-savvy and tech-literate.
This was all part of the Comcast Washington Internet Essentials Campaign, which was recently expanded for low-income U.S. veterans across the state this week.
