Taste wines from France at Tin Room’s monthly wine tasting Thursday night

From Advertiser The Tin Room Bar & Theater:

“Wines of France”
Thursday, September 21: 5 – 7 p.m.

A.O.C. Alsace Cremant Brut Rose 100% Pinot Noir
This brilliant pink salmon color sparkling rose has flavors of red and black berries, wild strawberries, red currant, fresh thyme, sage and brioche. The mouth is fresh and fruity with elegance and persistence. It’s perfect for cocktails or receptions. Pairs well with rabbit terrine, Italian-style grilled vegetables, chicken with tarragon, country-style green eggs and ham.

Novellum Chardonnay 2015
100% Chardonnay
Lots of orchard fruits, white peach, honeysuckle and a hint of vanilla to go with a medium to full bodied, crisp yet still textured and mouth-filling style on the finish. This Wine is aged on lees of Viognier.

Cotes Catalanes Tessellae Carignan Vieilles Vignes 2014
100% Carignan
This is one of the best examples of this variety from the Roussillon. Coming from 70-year-old vines, raised 12 months in a mix of concrete tanks and demi-muids, it offers tons of black raspberry and black cherry fruit, licorice and dried spices to go with a super sexy, heady, seamless style on the palate that keeps you coming back to the glass.

Chateau Puech-Haut
Grenache and Syrah
Combining 65-80-year-old Grenache with 45-year-old Syrah then fermented and aged 12 months in concrete, a dense and powerful wine with floral aromatics of dark fruit, spice, cracked pepper, juniper, thyme, rosemary and lavender.

Chateau Larose Trintaudon Cru Bourgeois Haut-Medoc 2010
60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot
Beautiful dark ruby color with aromas of red ripe berries as well as spicy vanilla notes. On the palate, dense tannic structure and great freshness finished off by slight mineral undertones and a silky texture.
