The room is so dark,
I can’t see anything.
The street is so quiet,
I can’t hear anything.
I am lost!
Like a pin threw into the ocean.
I am afraid of living.
I am afraid of dying.
I tried to find my way to the door.
I searched for an escape route.
Darkness surrounded me.
My shadow forsakes me.
I have nowhere to turn to.
Yet I struggle to turn to anywhere.
I fall as I search for the door.
My body aches, my weaken bone cries out for help.
Life has presented darkness to me.
Hope has presented silence to me.
What do I have left?
What else can I do?
What else can I hold on to?
Floods of uncertainty carried away my hope.
I found myself surrounded by fear.
Fear that I might never amount to anything in life.
I saw my heart Pierced a thousand times.
Pierced by frustration.
Pierced by hardship.
Pierced by rejection.
Pierced by disappointment.
My expectation became my worst nightmare.
My entire attempt to leave the dark room was futile.
Perhaps, if I should give up now; it will be justified.
I can’t find myself.
The darkness has swallowed up my image.
I don’t know my identity anymore.
I ask myself: who am I?
I am totally shattered.
I feel empty, without hope of getting filled.
Everyone despised me; I became a symbol of scorn.
My friends betrayed me, my loved ones rejected me.
Though darkness has taken over everywhere,
I can still feel that light is just around the corner.
Though all my hard work has been frustrated and ridiculed,
And am so angry with the life I got,
But I can’t explain the Peace I still feel within me.
Though I think of forsaking all,
But my mind keeps telling me “it will pass away. Just hold on”,
All the bitterness will pass away.
This peace has given rest to my mind.
Peace tells my body to stay strong.
Peace tells my soul to stay active.
Peace whispers to me “it’s too early to give up”
Keep pressing on, keep pushing on.
You are almost there!
Lift up your eyes, move closer and behold the door to freedom.
Grab the door handle, open it and enter into the LIGHT.
