Avoiding Tilt

Tilt is one of the most common reasons players lose most, if not all of their bankroll. While you may not be able to get rid of tilting totally, there are numerous ways to help avoid Tilt or just simply lessen the effect tilt has on your bankroll.
Below we go through the precautions and methods that you can take to help when those bad beats arrive.

● Take A Break – This is without doubt the best way of dealing with tilt. If you aren’t playing then you can’t lose anymore Money. Poker will always be there to return to when you feel in the right frame of mind. Even if it is just to go and get some food or drink, or for a walk around the house. Just take a break and the tilt will soon wear off.

● Play Smaller Stakes/Play Money – If you really can’t bring yourself to step away from  your computer then you can keep playing, just play in the lowest stakes possible. If you don’t have the bankroll for that then you can simply join the Play Money Tables to blow off some steam. Until you feel in the right frame of mind to return. Every site has play money tables so you have no excuse.

● Look Away Before You Showdown – This is much easier if you are playing multiple tables as you can cover up the table with another one. But failing that, just look away! If you lose then you won’t know how you lost which will help in Avoiding Tilt. For all you know, you may have just lost a standard 50/50 shot, not by a nasty 2 outer on the river when your opponent called your all-in with A-2.
