Websites, George Clooney and Strictly

In an effort to get some more paid work I am trying to put a website together to Advertise my journalistic wares. My partner is helping me to get my details on a free website at Weebly (www.weebly.com) - highly recommended. It is fairly straightforward to put text and pictures on the site. You can even 'monetize' the site (what an ugly word!) by putting Google Adsense on it.

Time will tell if the website gets any traffic. I might have to advertise it on Google, what a frightening thought! I know that you can lose a lot of money quite quickly so I will try free traffic generation methods initially like article postings.

Nobody has emailed me today with a commission to fly out to Italy to interview George Clooney. Maybe tomorrow, it could be my lucky day. But a lovely lady called Jodi emailed to say that I would be welcome to pitch for some work. Wait for it. She is paying the grand sum of $12 for 500 words and then she wants the article spun (no, nothing to do with gold or New Labour). Spinning apparently means creating different versions of the same article so they can be submitted to a number of different article directories. I have a headache. Nothing that a glass of red wine and 90 waltzing minutes of Strictly can't cure.
