Better Placed… 15 years and counting!

2017 is Better Placed’s 16th year in Business and having recently celebrated our 15th Birthday, it’s been a time for reflection, but also a time to look ahead with excitement.  We are still as ambitious as ever; proud to have built a business that has genuine values? and one we hope has made a difference. We couldn’t have done it without the people who have worked with us over that time and those that are currently within the business; we are fortunate to have such an amazing bunch of talented individuals across all areas, from research and finance right through to admin and marketing. Our Consultants love what they do and are also some of the most knowledgeable within their specialist markets in the industry. It’s all these individuals that make Better Placed stand out in from the crowd.

From the start, Better Placed as a brand has always stood for honesty and openness, offering industry-leading advice to our clients and candidates, gained through our extensive market experience and track record of delivery.  Without sounding too “highbrow” we are a Consultancy -not an Agency. We aren’t here to sell, but to offer advice and career consultancy. A career move is often one of the most important decisions anyone will make and if you get it right, it can be life changing. We walk people through that process and genuinely care they make the right move. The number of times we have done that over the last 15 years is hard to say… but its thousands. We plan to continue doing it for a good few years yet!

We have built a team and culture that offers something different. Easy to say but we don’t lose people to the competition. We treat people like adults; offer industry leading training and development; reward them well and offer them career development opportunities often not found in similar Recruitment businesses. The proof is in the pudding they say! Last year we promoted two Directors to the board; two Senior Consultants to Managers and eight Consultants to Senior Consultant. So what makes us different?  Something we call The Real Network..

This combines the values and framework of how we recruit and what underpins our business. It’s not complicated, it’s about meeting people and building our networks, in an industry that is increasingly becoming faceless, we still value what you get from face to face meetings; making the difference in those meetings and being memorable.  Our mission from day one was to be the best-connected people in the market and build and value long terms relationships. We don’t plan to change that, we don’t plan to change The Real Network… just expand it.

So currently we are  40 Consultants and 50 Employees across 3 offices (Leeds, Manchester and London) – we have a flourishing Executive Recruitment Brand – BPE Search an in-house research team and a recently relaunched HR recruitment brand – Better Placed HR headed up by James Lawson.

We don’t have any plans to slow down. 2016 was a record year and we are currently investing in all areas of our business across all locations – 2017 will be another record breaking year. We will  continue to change the face of HR and Marketing Recruitment, so here’s to the future and the next stage in our journey and as you read this
