What did India teach Uber?

Tags: uber india market

Uber might have a few nasty incidents the past few years, but that hasn’t stopped it expanding its reach in India. In fact, India is its third largest market after the US and China. And in India too, Uber is second only to Ola.

It’s co-founder and CEO, Travis Kalanick gave the credit of its fast growth to its awesome team. However, he did mention that the Indian market has taught him a few valuable lessons. The first thing it taught him to be flexible. The mobile app and cashless payment were all fine, but it wasn’t resonating with the Indian culture. That’s when Uber introduced cash payments, a first in the history of Uber.

And then the next thing he learnt was that passenger safety is the foremost. That’s the reason the company is introducing women drivers in its system to provide safe ride to its customers.

Uber has realized that they need to understand their customers and provide them according to their needs, and not what they want them to have. These are some lessons that every startup founder should take heed of as well.  Eazyhire a recruitment agency for startups can help you by providing you the right employees with the right skills and attitude for your company.
