Focus, Focus, Focus on Building Great Relationships

As your career progresses, you should be very focused on building relationships. In fact, at any point in your career, you should Focus on relationships. You want to be strategic and build great relationships that you can leverage now and in the future. The same should be the case for the people who are building a Relationship with you.

We are all busy in our daily lives so focus on the types of relationships that you want to build so you can maximize your valuable time. Figure out who you want to meet and become laser focused on connecting with these people. Whether it is through LinkedIn, an introduction, or meeting people at events, figure out the best way to meet them.

Time is a precious asset so be efficient and effective by connecting to those who you can build sustainable relationships over time. Having a high quality network will serve you well. Make sure to stay connected by communicating with certain people in your network so you stay top of mind. Invite them to coffee, lunch, drinks, or events. Find what works for people and be proactive.

Relationships are one of your biggest business assets so take them serious, manage your relationships, and build new relationship. Either way, make sure that you have built relationships that go both ways so you can assist one another.
