KUALA LUMPUR: Perodua sold 207,100 vehicles in 2016, a minimal drop from the 213,300 units it sold in 2015.
At an instructions today, president and CEO Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh ascribed the lower deals to a testing 2016, supported by firm rivalry and judicious loaning rules.
On aggregate industry volume (TIV), Aminar said Perodua is estimating a 2% expansion to 590,000 for 2017.
"In view of this projection, we focus to catch 34% piece of the pie or to offer 202,000 vehicles in 2017," he said. In light of expected TIV of 579,600 for 2016, Perodua's piece of the overall industry hit an unsurpassed high of 35.7% a year ago.
Aminar said Perodua developed its fares volume in 2016 to 4,700 units from 4,400 units in 2015 - with more than 60% of fares to Indonesia.
