Illinois man sues Sam’s Club over slip and fall accident

IA man who was injured in a slip and fall accident filed a lawsuit against Sam’s Club in Joliet, Illinois. The complaint was filed in Will County Courthouse against Walmart, which is doing business as Sam’s Club.

Hector Paz went shopping at the warehouse club on January 22, 2018. According to the lawsuit, he suffered a slip and fall accident as he was entering the store “via the vestibule located at the front.” However, the exact nature of his fall was not reported.

Court documents said Paz’s injuries from the accident were so serious that they forced him to take time off work. The lawsuit is seeking a minimum of $50,000 in damages.

Sam’s Club employees are responsible for ensuring a safe shopping environment for visitors to their store. Slip and fall accidents can result from many different factors, such as employee negligence. For example, the failure to place a warning sign on freshly mopped floors is likely to put shoppers at the risk of slipping and falling.
