Here Are the Best Ways to Stream NFL Preseason Games

The wait is over. The Nfl Preseason is officially underway, and we’re coming up on the only week of preseason that really matters — week three. This is when teams get a good, long look at the guys who will be doing most of the damage in the regular season, so if you want to get an idea of how your team is going to fare this year, this is when you want to tune in! And with so many services available, it’s never been easier to stream Nfl Preseason Games.

If you don’t have cable, there are plenty of ways you can catch the action. However, each has its own strengths and weaknesses, meaning there is no one-size-fits-all solution. While some people may use an antenna to get their fill of NFL, others turn to the internet to get their fix. We’ve broken down the pros and cons of three of the top streaming services to help you find the right fit for your NFL preseason needs.

NFL Game Pass

The most popular option for streaming NFL preseason games might be the NFL’s own service, Game Pass. And why not? It was made with NFL fans specifically in mind. Here’s a quick breakdown of the pros and cons.

Pros:

  • Watch almost any preseason game you want live and on demand
  • Watch regular season games on demand
  • Seven-day free trial available, after which you can cancel service
  • Works on Windows (including the Xbox One), Android (including Android TV), and Apple (include Apple TV) devices, plus Roku, the PlayStation 4, and Amazon Fire TV

Cons:

  • Blackouts mean you can’t watch games from your market
  • Regular season games don’t stream live
  • Costs $99 as a one-time fee for the whole season

Sling TV

Sling TV is the cheapest skinny bundle cable TV alternative. It can prove useful for some people during the NFL preseason.

Pros:

  • The Sling Blue package has NFL Network, which is airing quite a few preseason games
  • ESPN available in Orange package
  • FOX and NBC available in many (but not all) markets
  • DVR available as an add on
  • Seven-day free trial available, after which you can cancel service
  • Available on almost all devices (PlayStation 4 being a notable exception)

Cons:

  • NFL Network and ESPN subject to in-market blackout restrictions
  • No CBS

PlayStation Vue

PlayStation Vue is a favorite amongst diehard cord cutters. It offers a ton of channels, a great DVR, and a bit more of a cable-like feel than some of its competitors. For NFL preseason, it offers one of the most well-rounded streaming solutions.

Pros:

  • Includes FOX, NBC, and CBS in many (but not all) markets, making local games easy to watch
  • Comes with ESPN in the base package, with NFL Network included in the second pricing tier
  • Excellent DVR capabilities
  • Allows five simultaneous streams per house
  • Works on Android (including Android TV) and Apple (including Apple TV) devices, plus Roku, the PlayStation 4, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, and web browsers

Cons:

  • Price of all plans recently went up by $10 per month
  • Five-day free trial shorter than other options
